No business, brand, or advertiser can pay to appear higher in our listings, receive favorable reviews, or gain preferential editorial treatment. The content you see on Wherevi is shaped by genuine community contributions, verified data, and the independent judgment of our editorial team.

This Editorial Policy explains how content is created, curated, and maintained on our platform, so you always know what to trust and why.

2. Content Sources

The information on Wherevi comes from three primary sources, each held to strict quality standards:

2.1 Community Reviews and Contributions

The majority of content on Wherevi is created by our community of users. This includes written reviews, ratings, photos, tips, and personal stories about the places they visit. Community contributions are the heart of our platform, and we believe that firsthand experiences from real people are the most valuable form of information a traveler can find.

All community content is subject to our Community Guidelines. We use a combination of automated systems and human moderation to identify and remove content that is fake, misleading, spam, or otherwise in violation of our standards.

2.2 Editorial Team Research

Our editorial team creates original content including destination guides, curated lists, travel tips, and informational articles. All editorial content is:

• Never influenced by paid partnerships, advertising agreements, or external pressure.
• Clearly labeled as editorial content when it appears alongside community contributions.

Our editorial team does not accept compensation from businesses in exchange for coverage. If a member of our team visits a place for review purposes, any complimentary services are fully disclosed.

2.3 Public Data and Verified Information

Place listings on Wherevi include factual information such as addresses, operating hours, phone numbers, website links, and category classifications. This information is sourced from:

• Public business directories and official business websites.
• Information provided directly by place owners through our claim and submission process.
• Data verified by our team through research and cross-referencing.

We make every effort to ensure this information is accurate and up-to-date, but we acknowledge that business details can change. We encourage users and place owners to report any inaccuracies they find.

3. Review Integrity

The credibility of reviews on Wherevi is critical. We maintain strict standards to ensure that the reviews you read are genuine and trustworthy.

3.1 No Paid Reviews

Wherevi does not accept paid reviews under any circumstances. No business may pay a user, our editorial team, or any third party to write a review that appears on our platform. Reviews that are found to be compensated will be removed, and the accounts involved may be permanently suspended.

3.2 No Influencer Deals

We do not partner with influencers, bloggers, or content creators to produce sponsored reviews for specific places. While influencers are welcome to use Wherevi as regular community members, any content they share must meet the same authenticity standards as every other user. We do not offer preferential visibility or promotional treatment in exchange for content.

3.3 Verification Process

We use multiple methods to verify the integrity of reviews on our platform:

• Pattern detection. Automated systems monitor for suspicious review patterns, including sudden spikes in reviews, repetitive language, coordinated posting from related accounts, and other indicators of manipulation.
• Human moderation. Our moderation team reviews flagged content and conducts regular audits to identify fake, misleading, or policy-violating reviews.
• Community reporting. Users can report reviews they believe are fraudulent or in violation of our guidelines. Every report is investigated.
• Account history. We consider the full activity history of an account when evaluating the authenticity of its contributions, including posting frequency, review diversity, and behavioral patterns.

4. Place Listings

4.1 How Places Are Added

Places appear on Wherevi through several channels:

• Community submissions. Users can suggest new places to be added to the platform. Submissions are reviewed by our team for accuracy and relevance before being published.
• Editorial research. Our team identifies and adds notable places as part of destination guides and coverage expansion.
• Owner submissions. Business owners can submit their own places through our "Add a Place" process. Owner-submitted listings go through the same review process as all other listings.

Regardless of how a place is added, all listings are treated equally. There is no paid fast-track, premium placement, or priority queue.

4.2 Owner Claims

Place owners can claim their listing on Wherevi to manage basic business information such as hours, contact details, photos, and descriptions. Claiming a listing does not:

• Influence the place's ranking or visibility in search results.
• Grant the ability to remove, edit, or suppress community reviews.
• Provide any editorial advantage or promotional treatment.

Owners who claim their listing can respond to reviews publicly, which we encourage as a healthy form of business-community interaction.

4.3 Data Accuracy

We strive to keep all listing information accurate and current. Our approach includes:

• Regular automated checks for outdated or inconsistent information.
• Manual verification by our team for high-traffic listings.
• Community-powered corrections: users can suggest edits to listing details.
• Owner updates: claimed listings can be updated directly by verified owners.

5. Corrections and Updates

5.1 How to Request a Correction

If you find inaccurate information on Wherevi, whether it is a wrong address, outdated hours, a misattributed photo, or a factual error in editorial content, we want to hear about it. You can request a correction by:

• Using the "Suggest an Edit" feature on any place listing.
• Reporting the issue through the platform's report function.
• Emailing us directly at contact@wherevi.com with the specific page URL and details of the error.

We review all correction requests promptly and aim to resolve factual errors within 48 hours.

5.2 Transparency

We believe in being open about how we operate. If we make a significant error in editorial content, we will issue a correction and clearly note that the content has been updated. We do not silently alter published content to hide mistakes.

This Editorial Policy itself is reviewed and updated periodically. When significant changes are made, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify our community.
